Biodiversity Monitoring Week 2026 to take place in Montpellier, France

09 April 2026

The first BioMonWeek will be held from 4 to 8 May in Montpellier, France - a landmark European conference dedicated to advancing biodiversity monitoring across Europe. Co-organised by Biodiversa+, Alliance for Nature, BioAgora, GBIF ECA, and MARCO-BOLO, the event aims to unify Europe’s fragmented biodiversity monitoring community to better inform conservation and policy.

The conference has nine core themes, shaping the programme, spanning terrestrial, freshwater and marine monitoring, to data management and policies.

A number of Horizon Europe projects wherein Pensoft Publishers is the consortium partner responsible for communication and dissemination activities will be featured on the conference's exhibition floor. Among them, BioAgora will be featured in a dedicated booth where visitors will also have the chance to learn more about several other major initiatives, including OBSGESSION, ANERIS, SELINA, eLTER, ANTENNA, CO-OP4CBD, TRANSPATH, and RESPIN. The projects Biodiversity Meets Data (BMD), OneSTOP and MAMBO will come together for a stand as well, while B-Cubed will join co-organiser GBIF in their own exhibit.

We invite all researchers, policymakers, and professionals to visit the booth to discuss the future of biodiversity data and open-access publishing.
